Is releasing balloons prohibited? Releasing balloons is allowed and this is the alternative.

Balloons are fun! And also in this day and age when balloons are often seen in a negative light. Balloons would contribute to the problematic plastic waste mountain (plastic soup) floating in our seas and oceans. However, latex balloons are NOT made of plastic at all but are made of 100% natural latex which is tapped from rubber trees in Asia. Latex balloons are therefore 100% biodegradable and latex balloons break down in nature about as quickly as a leaf from an oak tree.

However, it is certainly not smart to just let helium balloons into the air, especially if these helium balloons have plastic ribbons attached to them. The balloons eventually come down again and therefore end up in our nature. The balloon may eventually biodegrade, but the plastic ribbons do not. And although we no longer use plastic ribbons but biodegradable ribbon that immediately dissolves in water, it remains a form of environmental pollution. After all, you don't throw apple cores or banana peels on the street. Right?

Balloon releases are possible!

Can you no longer release helium balloons at all? Of course it is! But make sure you can take the balloons down again after releasing them and clean them up eventually. Make sure they don't end up in the wild, that's the most important thing.

The video above shows an environmentally responsible balloon release organized by Globos Balloons. During the opening action, the councilor cuts a ribbon and the balloon appears to disappear into the air. However, nothing could be further from the truth. The balloon has an extra thin line that is still firmly attached to the balloon and a balloon weight. The helium balloon therefore remains floating about 8 meters above the ground and can therefore be taken down and cleaned up after use. This way, nothing is left behind in nature, animals cannot suffocate and the customer still has a striking opening promotion with balloons. Everyone happy!
