There is plenty to do in Rotterdam at Christmas. Every year there is the Christmas circus next to Ahoy and the skating rinks and the various museums are open. On Boxing Day you can still buy Christmas gifts at the Bijenkorf. There are various Christmas markets to visit in Rotterdam around Christmas, although these are less striking than the enormous Christmas tree in the shopping gutter (the largest in Rotterdam) and the festively illuminated facade of the Bijenkorf. The Scandinavian churches organize no fewer than 4 indoor Scandinavian Christmas markets, a Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and a Finnish Christmas market. Every Christmas market has its own typical unique range of gifts, decorations and delicacies from that country. You can also experience the Christmas atmosphere at the smaller Christmas markets with pleasant live Christmas music in Delfshaven and Overschie.

Winter Fair Ahoy

The largest Christmas market in Rotteram is the Winter Fair in Ahoy. At this enormous lifestyle fair for young and old, you will find no fewer than 250 cozy stands and, in addition to Santa Claus, you can encounter literally everything. From nice Christmas gifts to the latest winter fashion and from winter sports holidays to winter treats. The miniature Christmas village is highly recommended at the Winter Fair, definitely worth it. The Winter Fair is an atmospheric experience for the whole family.
