Printed balloons add a fun and personal touch to any event, but how are these balloons actually printed? There are two ways in which balloon printing companies print balloons. The method used depends on factors such as quantity, balloon size and delivery date. There are pros and cons of each method depending on different circumstances.

We print balloons using screen printing where the balloon is first inflated to 75%, then with a sieve and spatula the ink is applied to the balloon is applied and then allowed to drain again. The balloons are then heated with a hair dryer so that they regain their original shape. The ink will dry by the time the balloon is deflated. This also explains why you don't often find leaking balloons in a bag with printed balloons. Leaky balloons simply do not go through the entire process.

Offset printing

One method is offset printing. Ink is applied to a plate, the plate then transfers the ink to a printing cylinder (the image is inverted at this point). The balloon then rolls over the printing cylinder and thus transfers the image to the balloons.

Screen printing

With screen printing, the image is etched on a screen (the screen). The screens are held and press lightly on the surface of the inflated balloon. Ink is pressed through the mesh in the screen into the image area on the balloon. The area without an image does not allow ink to penetrate.

Ink

Balloon Printing Company uses a solvent-based special printing ink for printing balloons and rubber materials. These inks dry very quickly, are elastic when dried and are therefore particularly suitable for printing balloons.

Almost any logo can be printed on latex balloons, as long as it is not protected by copyright. Don't try to get the Chanel logo printed if you don't work for the company and have permission!
