On June 17, 2023, Yvette Jansen and Nadia Stam opened the doors of Krozant, a brand new bakery located in the heart of Rotterdam. What makes Krozant so special is that it is a 'croissant workshop' where traditional croissants take on a whole new meaning. Here you can enjoy unique creations such as a croissant with chicken thigh and mango chutney or a delicious croissant BLT with a hint of lemon mayonnaise. Krozant's culinary magic takes place in the Groothandelsgebouw, where customers are welcomed in an ambiance that radiates craftsmanship, love for good food and Rotterdam hospitality.

Krozant is no ordinary bakery; it is a place where gastronomic creativity and traditional craftsmanship come together. Yvette and Nadia, the entrepreneurs behind Krozant, are on a mission to surprise Rotterdam and visitors to the city with their delicious croissants and other delicious treats.

Krozant's location in the Groothandelsgebouw was not chosen randomly. This historic place, located in the bustling center of Rotterdam, offers the perfect environment for the bakery. Customers can not only enjoy the special croissants here, but also classics such as chocolate and coffee rolls. Moreover, the menu is full of sweet and savory pastries, delicious sandwiches and coffee from Rotterdam Giraffe Coffee Roasters.

What makes Krozant even more special is the fact that everything they serve is made in their own bakery. Craftsmanship is of paramount importance, and the love and dedication with which these delicious delicacies are prepared can be felt everywhere. Yvette says: "Making crozant takes a lot of time and love, and in this place everyone has the opportunity to take a look at our kitchen and experience that love."

Another striking aspect of Krozant is that it is located in the parking garage of the Groothandelsgebouw. This location, albeit temporary, adds a touch of adventure and uniqueness to the Krozant experience. It is the first step towards a bigger plan that Yvette and Nadia cherish. In the next two years they will work on their dream to expand into a larger coffee shop with tables and a spacious terrace.

The decor of Krozant in the parking garage is surprisingly pleasant. The industrial environment of the Groothandelsgebouw reflects the dynamics of the city of Rotterdam, while the cozy atmosphere in the bakery offers a warm welcome to all visitors. The combination of the rough, concrete structures and the aroma of freshly baked croissants creates a unique ambiance that stimulates the senses.

Another remarkable aspect of Krozant is the collaboration with the Rotterdam Balloon Company. This local company has provided the colorful and festive balloon decorations that make the atmosphere of Krozant even more festive. Yvette and Nadia have big plans for the future. While they currently serve their croissants and other delicacies in the parking garage of the Groothandelsgebouw, they dream of a larger coffee shop with tables and a large terrace. This would offer Rotterdam a new meeting place where people can enjoy delicious food, excellent coffee and a warm atmosphere.
