I went there on my own and they had special menu for the Mother’s Day, which was the only menu of the evening, but I was really satisfied with all the dishes. Recommended dishes: 🦞 bisque with scallops - the best lobster bisque I had ever had 🐮Châteaubriant - tender, juicy, generous portion, super tender and the white asparagus were so good Service: super nice and attentive staff, she explained every dish to me and chatted with me to make me feel less awkward since every other table was celebrating Mother’s Day with their families and I was there by myself. Ambience: the weather was so nice so most of the guests were sitting in their outdoor garden, where was a very relaxing place to chill and which made me enjoyed the meal even more after a long flight. I hadn’t make a reservation and just passed by and checked whether a table was available, so i think it’s always better to make an advance reservation to secure a good sitting area.

Hidden surprise gem in Rotterdam. Have seen the place many times passing by but never heard much about it. Was looking online for a traditional Dutch restaurant and stumbled across this place. It was not super traditional Dutch but amazing food and service. Could be Michelin star quality. The Christmas decorations were beautiful and the enormous live Christmas tree was unlike anything else in Rotterdam and a splendid way to get in the Christmas spirit. We got the table side carpaccio and lobster soup and would highly recommend. The lobster soup was a taste of heaven.

Great quality and taste of dishes. Great service, nice garden. Place is good covered from noise of surrounding areas and streets. Huge wine selection. Really recommend this place for celebrations. We have spend 3h there and not even realize that time has passed.

Enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner. As a tourist, I found the restaurant and staff accommodating with first class service, it has a wonderful atmosphere and I would recommend to anyone visiting or a local to enjoy a meal here. Had the chefs special menu, and each plate was absolutely delicious. Staff made it a memorable experience.

Is there a restaurant in Rotterdam more elegant than Old Dutch? I doubt it! I honestly was unaware that this is a legendary, upper class establishment. In a typical Rotterdam down-to-earthness the friendliest bow-tied staff didn't bat an eyelid to my wearing shorts. The set lunch was simply extraordinarily scrumptious and so were the cocktail and wine. I can't wait to return soon and when I do I will ensure I'd dress accordingly. Last but not least, an extra star for the best service ever!
