More than 35 years ago, in 1986, Montèl was founded by Ger Nijman, the father of current General Manager Bram Nijman.
The Montèl brand specializes in making sofas.
The first Montèl branch was opened in Hilversum and was aimed at the Gooise public.
The aim was to create a collection for people with more taste than money, with an emphasis on an affordable price.
The sofa models were largely devised by Ger Nijman himself and were placed in a luxurious environment by the customer, but in the end were not that expensive.
This idea of more design for less money is still the core of the company.
Montèl has grown into the largest seating specialist in the Netherlands and now offers affordable design for everyone.
Montèl's credo is therefore: 'The sofa is beautiful, the price even more beautiful'.

Really nice showroom, staff is extremely friendly. Especially Taner and Arif helped me a lot to choose what we chose. The delivery was extremely fast. It's the only company delivering in 1.5-2 weeks. The others were giving us 2-3 months delivery times. They should learn from Montel.

Would never buy here again! On the day our coffee table (€599) was delivered + - 2 weeks after purchase, it was already for sale for €249. After we pointed this out to customer service (Nikki), the message was a shame. This really doesn't seem like a good course of action considering the price range!

We previously had a sofa from Montel that we enjoyed for years, but unfortunately the quality has deteriorated sharply. We bought an (expensive) sofa and armchair in November last year and the sofa already looks bad. Poor quality fabric and the cushions are almost always sloppy. You have to get them into shape every day, but after 10 minutes it doesn't look good anymore. The armchair has too much fabric (attached by a Montel technician) around the chair, causing the fabric to hang 'loose' around the chair, as it were. Unfortunately, we have to make do with it. We will never, ever buy from Montel again! This is really a bad buy.
